About Me
PERSONAL QUALITIES, WORK HABITS, ATTITUDES
I do not have a high amount of self esteem, nor self worth. I am not the most honest of people and I am not the most responsible person in the world. However, I compensate for these shortcomings with my way of thinking. I value the large scale. I am a realist. The truth is of extreme importance to me, and people’s feelings are not. My cynical way of thinking makes my debating and argumentative skills quite impressive. This school is a perfect environment for me, because it leaves me alone to let me craft my own narratives, and think of my own ideas and opinions. This open environment allows me to make any case and not get told to be silent. I like history, and I like trying to figure out what actually happened. I hold a lot of integrity for history because I believe these valiant stories deserve to be honored and remembered. My ultimate goal in life is to do something that will have a large impact or be remembered for a very long time. At the large scale of the human race, very select individuals have been able to do this. In short, I just want to be known. That may seem cliche, and maybe it is, but greatness awaits. This school allows its learners to think not only about their academics, but their core values as a person. Sociability is just as important as grades. Being social is what allows learners such as myself develop who they are. A great thing about being in ACLC is you generally walk out with a solid self-identity you would not otherwise have at a normal high school.
NEW BASICS/SKILLS
I will be honest; My skillset is strangely unbalanced. I have a high focus on history, and subsequently English, and my skills in math are lacking. I like history because I like stories, and I like the machines of the past because of their technological feats and innovations. History also makes my skills in geography above average. My writing has vastly improved since I arrived here as a freshman. I do not like to read novels or longer texts often, but I had read at an 11th grade level when I was 9 so I am not really worried about my skills in understanding texts. Any confusion I have had while reading are usually in very old texts with fancy linguistics, and my English classes have given me plenty of practice with those. When it comes to public speaking I am very proficient, My voice and points are always clear, and I do my best to make sure my words are clear but still entertaining. This was strengthened by my 10th grade debate unit and Socratic seminars. I am a decent artist, but my art is more about spacial understanding and 3-dimensional thinking. I can draw, and quite well, but I will be the first to admit there are others my own class superior to me.
THINKING AND REASONING SKILLS
Using thinking and reasoning skills is one of my personal specialties. When I enjoy the subject, learning is a breeze. My creativity and ability to think in a three-dimensional space is what I am most proud of. If Mathematics was my strong-suit, I would definitely pursue engineering, but since I do not see that as a option, I thought I might pursue 3D modeling or CGI instead. Another thing I am good at is decision making. I find myself pretty proficient at finding the best course of action and then explaining it clearly and confidently. This may have to do with my rather impressive ability to problem solve. I literally find other people's solutions for social problems online and decide better solutions to replace them for fun. I really enjoy looking at the facts and the situation and thinking through what makes the best outcome or result. Logical thinking is almost an entertainment for me. In the field of thinking and reasoning I am the strongest, and I have little drawbacks that I can see in this field; It is what I am most proud of.
INTERPERSONAL ABILITIES
When it comes to talking to other people, look no further. I am quite proficient in speaking clearly and concisely. I explain situations and concepts with the intent to make the listener not only understand but be interested as well. Due to this, I have a passion for teaching. I have a unique skillset to contribute to the team. In addition to being creative, my ability to apply it to a three-dimensional space makes my input in a situation that requires it important. I am a team player, and I do my best to intertwine my own ideas with those of others, as not single individual can think of everything. When I am working with colleagues or clients, I make sure to do my absolute best. When people are depending on me I always try my hardest to pull through. Dependence is the motivation I need to succeed.
TECHNOLOGY
Whilst I am no programmer, I have a decent understanding for technology. My technological understanding is mostly in the field of hardware and mechanics. I will be the first to admit that I do not have extensive knowledge in the field of software and programming. I have good cinematographic skills and as a result can produce interesting videos with excellent cuts. The majority of my editing skills are with HitFilm 3 Express, but I also know how to use Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, and the digital music program known as Reason.
